Discipline Committee of SMMCA

The Discipline Committee is constituted for the maintenance of discipline in the college. The committee will ensure that students obey rules and remain orderly and peaceful in the pursuant of educational objectives/goals in the college community.

The Disciplinary Committee will look into the following functions under the guidance of the undersigned:-

  • To serve as model in terms of character training and behavior for students.
  • To assist the students in conforming to college rules and regulations.
  • To help students develop self-discipline.
  • To administer consequence commensurate with offence committed by any student.
  • To frame new college rules and regulations in consultation with the undersigned for the students behavioural aspect.
  • To promote and encourage good behaviour among the teachers and students.
  • To create an environment that is conducive to peaceful and harmonious co-existence of staff & students .

RESPONSIBILITIES OF DISCIPLINARY COMMITTEE

Disciplinary procedure

  1. Detecting and examining some behavioral problems among students.
  2. Meeting with misbehaving students and clarifying the negative effects of bad behavior on their life.
  3. Promoting good behavior among students and rewarding those with good conduct.
  4. Taking suitable action towards students’ misconduct.

POLICIES RELATED TO STUDENTS

Specific Behavioral Guidelines

  1. Punctuality– It is mandatory for students to be punctual to the college and shall have to be present every day at 8.45 a.m. Every student is expected to attend the morning assembly. Attendance of the students will be taken at the time of assembly by respective class coordinators.
  2. The attendance will also be taken at the beginning of the classes in the afternoon after lunch break. The record of attendance shall be displayed at the end of the month for students. Every student is expected to go through the displayed attendance and has a chance to rectify the record within 8 days by talking to the class teacher if her attendance has been wrongly recorded.
  3. In case of abscentism , student shall bring a letter of absence duly signed by her parents/guardian. However, a student having less than 75% attendance will not be in any case permitted to appear for University Examination.
  4. Dress Code – Salwar suit/ Jeans /Leggings with long Kurti.
  5. Extracurricular activities– Credits are allotted to each activity and students are required to attend the activities to earn these credits.
  6. Every student has to attend the programmes organized by the college from time to time.
  7. Attendance for programme of 26th January and of 15th August is mandatory for every student.

 Study tours– Every year study tours are arranged for students of different years as per their curriculum requirements. Active participation in Study Tour is necessary.

Dress Code – White Salwar Suits/Leggigs with Long Kurti.

It is impermissible to let the students enter the classroom without dress code.

  1. It is impermissible to let the students enter the classrooms before the morning assembly.
  2. It is impermissible to let the students eat inside the classrooms.
  3. It is impermissible to talk on mobile phones in the classroom. For urgent calls, students can go out side the class with teacher permission and talk
  4. It is not allowed for any student to leave the classroom without taking permission from the teacher.
  5. After breaks, students must go directly to their classrooms.
  6. If the subject teacher does not reach his lesson on time or is absent, students must wait inside the classroom.student representative can contact year incharge.
  7. Students are not allowed to leave their classroom if they have a free period. The College administration should get a substitute teacher to cover that period.
  8. Resting, napping or sleeping is not allowed inside the classroom.
  9. Students must bring all their required books, copybooks and pencil cases according to their timetable.
  10. Homework assignments must be done as assigned on time.
  11. Students are not allowed to touch or keep dangerous or harmful objects.
  12. Students are not allowed to throw objects around the college.
  13. Students respect other’s feelings – no teasing, name calling, swearing, etc.
  14. Students- respect other’s person – no rough play, fighting, bullying, threats, harassing, etc.
  15. Students– respect other’s property – no theft, vandalism, etc.
  16. Gum chewing is not allowed inside college at any time.
  17. Keep your college clean just as you would keep your house clean.
  18. Throw rubbish in the bin, keep the place clean always.

Classroom Rules

  1. Arrive to class on time with the necessary equipment.
  2. Listen to teachers or other students without interruption.
  3. Complete all assignments on time.
  4. Treat the teacher and other students with respect.
  5. No eating or drinking is allowed in class (water is acceptable.)
  6. Keep hands and feet to yourself.
  7. Respect the property of the school. Don’t draw on walls or tables.
  8. Respect the rights and property of others.
  9. Act in a safe and responsible manner.

 

Mobile Policy

  1. If a student is found using a mobile phone, for any purpose, the phone will be confiscated from the pupil.
  2. As a general rule, students are not allowed to use the school telephones except for emergencies. To use the telephone, students should request permission from the Students’ Counselor or a teacher.

Lost and Found

A lost & found property box is located near the admin. office. If a student finds something, he/she is requested to put it in the box. So, the student is advised to refer to the Students’ Counsel head to check her missing properties.
