“Vastukruti”

Exhibition “Vastukriti” was held at Urban design department of SMMCA on 30th July 2022. The theme for exhibition was to display the thesis works of 10th semester students of B. Arch, 4th semester students of M. Arch Architecture Education and M. Arch Urban Design.  Selected students work was displayed. Along with that studio project of urban design was also exhibited. It was inaugurated by President, WES, Adv. Sunil Manohar in presence of Director, SMMCA Dr. Avinash Deshmukh and students, teaching and non-teaching staff of SMMCA. All the staff members along with students from 3rd year and 4th year of B. Arch, 2nd year M. Arch urban design and 2nd year M. Arch Arch. Edu visited the exhibition.  Also, the virtual exhibition “Pradhnya Darpan”, academic work of students was inaugurated by Dr. Avinash Deshmukh. It showcases the snippets of academic work of B. Arch, M. Arch Urban Design and M. Arch Arch. Edu which is available on the official website https://smmca.edu.in Almost 100 students visited the exhibition along with around 25 teaching faculty. Ar. Sarika Joshi along with Dr. Sujata Godbole (Thesis incharge), Ar. Tanvi Burghate (Urban design coordinator), Ar. Renuka Chutke (Arch. Edu coordinator) coordinated for overall execution of the exhibition under the guidance of Dr. Pratima Dhoke, Officiating Principal, SMMCA. The students’ exhibition committee worked hard for the display of work due to which it was a great success and achievement for SMMCA.

Exhibition on : “Reinvigorating the Cultural Landscapes of Nagpur: Case of Mominpura, Hansapuri & Empress Mill Colony” – 18th Sep

 M.arch Urban design Department & INTACH Heritage Club of Women’s Education Society’s Smt Manoramabai Mundle College of Architecture had organized the exhibition on “Reinvigorating the cultural landscapes of Nagpur: Case of Mominpura, Hansapuri & Empress Mill” on Sunday 18th September 2022 from 10am to 7pm at 3 different locations. The work done on Mominpura , Hansapuri & Empress Mill were exhibited at their respective locations for the locals so that they can understand their neighbourhood from past to present and be aware and responsible decision makers of its future. In Mominpura, the exhibition was inaugurated by Dr. Sarfuddin Sahil. In Hnasapuri, the exhibition was inaugurated by Mr. Sanjay Jhawar. In Empress Mill colony, the exhibition was inaugurated by CA. Nitin Betharia. The Vice Chancellor of RTMNU Dr. Subhash Choudhar, Dr. Mahajan, Placement cell incharge, Dr. Anant Pande were amongst the few prominent persons who visited the exhibition & congratulated the students for the good work.  Exhibition was visited by large number of people from local communities also. Dr. Priya Choudhary, Head of the  department along with Ar. Tanvi Burghate & Ar. Divya Tadas  guided the students along with Ar. Sandeep Phate & Ar. Maharashtra Stepwell Campaign – 15th Oct

Mr. Rohan Kale, Founder of Maharashtra Stepwell Campaign gave presentation on Maharashtra Stepwell Campaign. The program was organized by Smt. Manoramabai Mundle College of Architecture’s (SMMCA’s)INTACH Heritage club.  Mr. Rohan Kale founded the Maharashtra Step wells Campaign with the goal of mapping, documenting, preserving, conserving, and revitalizing step wells throughout the state of Maharashtra. Under the Maharashtra Step well Campaign so far, Mr. Rohan Kale has mapped around 1800+ step wells across Maharashtra, which include step-wells, step-tanks, kund, pushkarni, pokhran, helical step wells are marked. The broader vision is to revive these step wells, heritage conservation, study of ancient and mediaeval period trade routes, and celebrate the Maharashtra Step well Mahotsav. Under the able guidance of Women’s Education Society’s, the Secretary Dr. Shyamala Nair & the Principal SMMCA Dr. Roopal Deshpande, the faculties organized the program. The initiative was taken by Dr. Madhura Rathod, (Convenor, INTACH, Nagpur Chapter), Dr. Neeta Lambe (SMMCA’s Heritage Club Co-ordinator) and Ar. Sneha Bodhankar (SMMCA’s Heritage Club Co-ordinator). The program was co-ordinated by Prof. Atula Patwardhan, Ar. Piyusha Rathor, Ar. Rashmi Thakre and Ar. Samruddhi Amte. Ms. Kiranjyot Kohli (President, SMMCA’s Student Council) and Ms. Tanaya Jachak (Vice President, SMMCA’s Student Council) hosted the program efficiently. Mr. Rohan Kale appealed to staff and students of Smt. Manoramabai Mundle College of Architecture (SMMCA) to volunteer and come forward to be a part of his campaign.

Exhibition showcasing students work for NAAC visit – 28th Sept

SMMCA was an academic partner in the ICAISDG 2021 (International Conference on Architectural Introspection of Sustainable Development Goals) held at Panajim, Goa on 10th & 11th of December 2021. Dr. Neeta Lambe co-ordinated with the ICAISDG team and the conference was physically attended by Dr. Neeta Lambe and Dr. Sampada Peshwe and faculties of SMMCA, Dr. Tarika Dagdkar and Ar. Anuradha Bhute Presented paper in online mode in this event. 3 student teams submitted abstracts for the conference and all 3 were accepted and were selected for presentation in online mode at the conference. The three teams consisted of Unnati Dhande (Final year) with co-author Ar. Neeta Lambe, Shraddha Supare (Final year) with co-author Dr. Sampada Peshwe and Tanvi Charde and Sakshi Rathi (4th year) with co-author Dr. Neeta Lambe. The final papers have also been accepted and the conference team has declared that they will be published in the conference proceedings with ISBN Number. It was also mentioned that the papers that were presented would be forwarded to the UN.

“Vastukruti”

Exhibition ‘Vastukruti’ was organized in which undergraduate and postgraduate student’s Architectural work were displayed.
Student volunteers from all the years of Smt. ManoramabaiMundle college of Architecture worked enthusiastically with the faculty in charge Dr. Madhura Rathod, Ar. Vaijayanti Yadav, Ar. Seema Burele, Ar. Harpreet Kaur Saggu, Ar. Priyanka Sambare to make this competition a grand success. Also Prof. Sarika Joshi diligently worked for the exhibition. Principal Dr. Ujwala Chakradeo, Administrative Officer Mr. Gajanan Pilpile, and the entire teaching and non-teaching staff worked hard for the success of the programme.
The event was graced by the presence of Mr. Sameer Meghe – MLA Hingna, Nagpur, Mr. Ashok Singh Thakur – INTACH Governing Council Member, New Delhi and Convener – INTACH Chandrapur Chapter along with Mr. Kishor Divekar – Convener, INTACH Nagpur Chapter.

First year students of Batch 2019- 2020 midterm work displayed

  • Exhibition of posters on the 10th of March 2018 on the theme of ‘Paradox to paradigm’ International Conference conducted by SMMCA, Nagpur at Radisson Blu, Nagpur.
  • Exhibition on the 24th of June 2018 of final year selected thesis Projects and First year work. Dr. Vinayak Adane from VNIT Inaugurated the exhibition.
  • Exhibition on the 10th of August 2018 of paper bags made by 1st year students which was the output of orientation program ‘Say no to plastic’.
  • Exhibition on the 26th of October 2018 of 1st year students academic work on the day of Parents teacher meet.
  • ‘Vaastukriti’ Exihibition on the 2nd of December 2018 showcasing students work from 1st to final year.
  • Documentation Cell exhibited panel on Heritage structures of Nagpur at Empress Palace at Valuers’ Association.
  • Exhibition of Heritage structures in and around Nagpur by Documentation cell and Design Cell at Chitnavis Center. It was inaugurated by Guardian Minister Mr. Chandrashekhar Bawankule for the CURTAIN RAISER event as a part of Silver Jubilee Celebration of SMMCA.
  • “Vastukruti’- an annual exhibition showcasing the work of students from first to fourth year.
  • An Exhibition of Alumni’s work was organized by college at Chitnavis Centre. Co-ordinators of the program were Ar. Ketki tidke and Ar. Harpreet Saggu.
  • Drustikshep – Presentations and exhibition of selected seminar works of Final year students before eminent architects at Chitnavis center.  Co-ordinators of the program were Prof. Roopal Deshpande and Ar. Seema Burele.
  • Five selected students from the college exhibited their thesis work at Chitnavis Center organized by  IIA.
  • Exhibition of selected thesis work of final year students and first year ‘s documentation work was inaugurated at the hands of  Vice Chancelleor Dr. S.P Kane  at SMMCA.
  • An exhibition was organized showcasing the entire first semester work of Basic Design . This exhibition was especially for the students parents who marked their presence for the first year parent-teacher meet.
  • Exhibition of Alumni work  was displayed which included works of our alumni – Pragati Narang, Mallika Seth, Prerna Umathe, Dimple Jain & Deepti Tangri.
  • VAASTUKRITI 2016 –An exhibition was organized  displaying the students works of all years on occasion of winter drawing competition.
  • Vastukruti – An Exhibition of students’ academic work was organized by college during Alumni Meet.
  • An Exhibition of Alumni’s work was organized by the college.
  • Exhibition of works of 1st year students was inaugurated at hands of Ar. Romi Khosla.
  • Vastukruti Exhibition at SMMCA – The students work was exhibited on 19th January 2014 which was inaugurated by Er. Satish Raipure. The exhibition was open for all.
  • Vastukriti Exhibition at SCZCC – An exhibition was organized at SCZCC for propagating   architecture as a career.
  • Exhibition of architectural works of Ar. Sudhir Jambhekar – This event was organized by Smt. Manoramabai Mundle college of Architecture, Nagpur in collaboration with MASA (Maharashtra Association of Schools of Architecture). The documentation works done during recently held study tours of second and fourth year students was also exhibited.
