About Library
SMMCA’s Library is continuously working towards the sharing of the information and its sole objective is to create knowledge resource repository in the field of Architecture in Central India.
Our library manages the facilities by means of which the students, research scholars and faculty members can access and disseminate data, information and research reports. It is in the process of updating by adopting the latest technological changes in collecting, storing, cataloguing and sharing information.
SMMCA’s Library has more than 5250 titles of books related to architecture and allied subjects. It houses more than 30 numbers of National and International Journals. Apart from these, the library has collection of rare books, special reports and growing collection of documentation reports by students, Thesis reports of undergraduate and post graduate and PhD reports.
The reference section comprises of a book collection related to the subjects like Architectural design, Theory of architecture, Environment, Sustainability, Green Architecture, History of architecture, Climatology, Urban design, Urban Planning, Transport Engineering, Building Services, Time Saver Standards, Structural Design, Computer Aided Design , Advanced Building Construction, Society and Culture, Art, History and Civilization, GIS, Product Design, Graphics, Earthquake Engineering etc. All Encyclopaedias and Dictionaries are also stored under reference section. The Library also stores student’s academic portfolios as record.
Apart from national and international periodicals, our library has the facility of e-journals. The user-friendly software SyNchRoniK Inc’s SoftLib is used for management. At present, our library is partially automated.

Library remains closed on 2nd and 4th Saturdays and all Sundays along with the holidays as mentioned in the Holiday circular of RTM Nagpur University.
General Rules and Regulations
- Identity card is compulsory for getting access to the library
- Silence to be maintained inside the library
- No discussion permitted inside the library
- Entry in the register kept at the entrance counter before entering library is compulsory.
- Library borrower card shall be issued to the students in the first year by the Librarian and reissued every subsequent year.
- Library borrower cards are not transferable. The borrower is responsible for the books borrowed on his/her card.
- Outside students/scholars/faculty members are allowed to refer the library only with letter from the institution and valid I D Card.
- Use of Mobile phones and Audio instruments with or without speaker or headphone is prohibited.
- No personal belongings are allowed inside the library
- Already issued books or other materials are not allowed to be taken inside the library.
- Issue of books and other material before taking it outside the library is compulsory.
- Assistant Librarian may call any book from any member at any time and member shall return the same immediately.
- Refreshments of any kind are not permitted inside the library.
Book Circulation: Rules and Regulations
Books will be issued on the presentation of the ID card. Students are instructed to check the books while borrowing and they will be responsible for any type of damage noticed at the time of return. If the book is lost, then the borrower shall replace the book of the same edition or latest edition or pay the cost of the book after taking permission of the assistant Librarian. Books or any other material borrowed should be returned on or before the due date stamped. If the book is returned late, then overdue fine will be charged for the delayed period. Students are instructed to get Clearance form signed by Assistant Librarian for no dues before examination to issue hall ticket.
Students are required to handle the books or any other material very carefully. Marking with pen/pencil, writing or highlighting anything, tearing of the pages or mutilating the same in any way will be viewed very seriously.

Journal Section
National and international Journals are displayed on racks in this section. The current journal is displayed and previous journals are arranged in the drawer. The bound volumes of periodicals are arranged year wise in the rack and are only for the reference.

e-Journals
SMMCA has subscribed E –library, k-hub from Infotrack Library Solutions. k-hub has following facilities : e-journals :- 1013, e-books:- 1013, Other-01 , Videos:- 107, Conference Proceeding: – 01 e-magazines :- 107, e-articles :- 02, e-newsletters :- 01. It has remote access for students.
